My Daughter was born 15 days ago at Mauli hospital, Balkum. I would like to share our experience from our first visit to the hospital until our discharge.... Mauli hospital is conveniently located within walking distance from Balkum Naka and the upcoming Balkum metro station. The hospital is owned by Sonali Bhoir, a gynecologist, and her husband Swapnil Sir, a Pediatric Consultant. The entire building, which consists of 2 floors, belongs to them and includes a Pharmacy and an Ultrasound center. Although the building is old, it is equipped with all the necessary facilities that a hospital should have.
We chose Mauli Hospital and Sonali Mam for several reasons. Firstly, it is close to our place and the doctor herself resides in the same locality. This proximity was an important factor in our decision, especially considering that during pregnancy, one may need to visit the hospital multiple times for any complications that may arise within the 9 months. Additionally, we also took into account the positive Google reviews. The fact that both Pediatric and ultrasound services are available in the same hospital, along with the provision of a NICU, further influenced our decision.
From our first visit, we were highly impressed with Sonali Mam. She is extremely knowledgeable and transparent. She took the time to explain all the possibilities, complications, and care that we needed to take during the entire duration of the pregnancy. Having gone through the pain and difficulties of pregnancy herself, as a mother of two, she effectively utilizes her personal experiences to guide her patients. She always emphasizes that she doesn't want her patients to face the same challenges she did.
One of the notable advantages of Mauli Hospital is the absence of long queues. Even during busy periods, the maximum waiting time is only 1 hour. Moreover, there is no need to visit multiple places for ultrasound and then return to show the reports. While there is a separate radiologist, Sonali Mam herself accompanies the patient and operates the ultrasound machine if a quick ultrasound is required. This eliminates the need for multiple visits, as both ultrasound and OPD appointments can be scheduled on the same day.
Hospitalization, Stay and discharge:
When it comes to hospitalization, discharge, and insurance, Mauli Hospital offers cashless claim facilities, and their Third Party Administrator (TPA) is very helpful.
Initially I said that hospital and doctor staying nearby is always an advantage, this was proved in our case, We, had to rush my wife due to severe pain reduces baby activity (This was my wife’s 2nd pregnancy, 1st being cesarean, doc had warned us of decreasing scar thickness in previous ultrasound scans). We had to rush her to hospital at 12 in the night. Baby’s heartbeat was low and she was immediately put on medication. Nurses informed the doctor and she came within 10 min, called every staff, anesthesiologist, Swapnil sir also came and my wife prepared for emergency C-Section. She was calm, spoke to us and assured that everything was fine. My daughter was born at 1 AM and my wife was out in next 45 min happy and very much conscious.
Throughout the hospitalization, all the staff was very supportive, Nurses made sure that baby was fed every 2 hrs. (Throughout the night they used to take my daughter every 2 hrs., feed her and brought her back) before the baby started breastfeeding.
What should improve:
Problem with mosquitoes since there are lot of dampness and trees behind the hospital.
Special rooms on 2nd floor are very small, however we stayed there only for 24 hrs. since its closer to OT and they need the patient there for monitoring after delivery. Post 24 hrs. were shifted to 1st floor which is very spacious and mosquito are also less on 1st floor.
In conclusion, our decision to choose Mauli Hospital and Sonali Mam was validated by our experience. The convenience of having the hospital and doctor nearby proved to be advantageous in our case.

Dr. Sonali Bhoir did a great job with my pregnancy. Throughout my pregnancy she explained everything to me in a very clear manner. ... She is very positive Dr. I always gets good and positive vibes from her. My mother also were treated in Mauli Hospital by Dr and her staff. It was my second child delivery n I opted to get it delivered at Mauli hospital n that was my best decision ever… Dr. Sonali Bhoir made me feel... so comfortable everytime I went for my chkup she was there to guide me with each n every small detail… n the best part is she is very clear abt things if it’s a c-sec or normal she will very clearly share well before the due time which helps to get you prepare mentally. Dr. Swapnil Bhoir is the best for the child I personally had a very good experience with him too… both doctors r very down to earth, professional n golden heart humans… n yes there is lot of positive vibes within premises…. (Starting from the Kaka who is @ main gate entrance till Nurses with whom I had my interaction were all very helpful be it day time or night thy were just a call away… To sumup my overall experience I would say ‘The Best Experience’ 5 ⭐️ sonali didi lots of love to you n best wishes for your future endeavours…hoping to c u soon (casual meet 😜) God bless u n ur fmly…. 😊 tc stay safe.
